Middle Tennessee Association of REALTORS® is always here for its members. MTAR encourages its members to become involved in government affairs in order to become more knowledgeable about issues that may impact the industry and the business as a whole. To be successful, we must ensure a healthy real estate market.
The Objective of the MTAR Government Affairs Program
Keep MTAR members informed about recent real estate changes in legislation that impact the industry and educate members about how to get involved in the political process when it comes to government processes that affect MTAR members and their clients.
Support TN REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® in their efforts to pass legislation and support candidtates that are REALTOR® friendly, protects private property rights, supports homeonwership, and promotes a proper economic environment in which businesses and the real estate industry can succeed (and turn down legislation that opposes these goals).
Visit the REALTOR® Action Center
There are a number of ways to become involved and educated. Visit the REALTOR® Action Center to get started working with elected officials who are making decisions that impact the REALTOR® industry.
You can register for the REALTOR® Party, which unifies the voices of REALTORS®. You can also invest in the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC), which builds the necessary relationships at all governmental levels to provide a prosperous and sturdy real estate market.
TN REALTORS® Government Affairs
TN REALTORS® works hard to represent our industry by endorsing REALTOR® friendly legislation and warding off those in opposition.
TN REALTORS® identifies and acts on issues at the nation, state, and local levels that affect the real estate industry and private property owners. Now is a very critical time for REALTORS® to unite and speak out about the stability a solid and dynamic market brings to our communities. The REALTOR® Party is that voice.
National Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs
The National Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs Division, located near the U.S. Capitol, pushes for policy at the federal level that strengthens the ability and rights of people to buy, sell, and own real estate. See the following links to stay current with NAR government affairs.
